Remarks
Sackville Farm Airfield is near the village of Riseley on the Northamptonshire Bedfordshire border and is located between Rushden and Bedford, approximately 4 miles from the main A6 trunk road. Heading north along the A6 from Bedford, continue along the dual carriageway which reduces to an ordinary main road just before the village of Milton Ernest. Continue on the A6 through this village and on to the next village of Bletsoe with the Falcon pub on your left. Continue up the A6 to a large roundabout and stay on the A6 (second exit, signpost Rushden and Kettering). After this roundabout, take the next turn on the right which is about 1 mile on. This is signposted to Riseley and is called Riseley Road.
Continue along this country road for about 2 miles to Riseley and approach a tee junction. Turn left onto the High Street and continue through the village, passing the Fox and Hounds pub on your right. Keep going along the High Street and eventually you will see a school on your right and a garage on your left a short distance on. Just after the garage on the left you will see a tree lined private road with a gate house. Turn in here and follow the private road. After about 1/3 of a mile take the turning on the left (marked Wilkinsons). Follow the track and take a right turn next to the house marked Sackville Lodge. With the house on your left and farm buildings on your right, continue on for a short distance. You will see a green aircraft storage building on your right. Turn left into the car park and from there walk between the building and hedge, through the gap onto the airfield. Walk down to the club house keeping the hedge to your left. Keep a very good lookout for taxiing aircraft and be particularly careful of aircraft starting up.
Friends, family and picnics are most welcome, but no dogs please.

Walking Directions to the Fox and Hounds
From the clubhouse, walk down to the runway 31 threshold and cross it (keeping a good lookout). Then turn immediately left and walk up the edge of the runway undershoot until you meet a fence which crosses the undershoot. Turn right and walk along the the fence to a hedge, and turn left there. Follow the hedge to a gap with a footbridge in it. Go through the gap, over the bridge. You will find yourself in a large meadow with a number of paths across it and you will see the church. Take the path to the Church, enter the graveyard, go past the church and out into a lane. Walk down the lane and take the first turning on the left, which is the entrance to a narrow green area. Follow the (only) path until it brings you out on the High Street. Turn right. The pub is approximately 200 yards on the left.
